MAARI MA CONGRATULATES NEW CHAIR OF MPRA
Maari Ma Aboriginal Health Corporation has congratulated the new Chair of the Murdi Paaki Regional Assembly (MPRA), Des Jones.
Mr Jones was recently appointed Chair of the MPRA which is the peak structure representing the interests of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in 16 communities across Western NSW.
Maari Ma CEO, Bob Davis, said Mr Jones is an excellent choice and knows the region, its people and the issues very well.
“Des has had a long association with issues in our region, particularly relating to health.
“He is Maari Ma’s longest continuous serving Board Director and is currently our Deputy.
“He has been involved with Murdi Paaki for many years and was Chairperson of the Murdi Paaki Regional Housing Corporation.
“ Maari Ma has a close working relationship with Murdi Paaki and I have no doubt that Des will provide excellent leadership, and strategic direction and engagement for the delivery of services and programs against priorities determined by Aboriginal people across the region” Mr Davis said.
